Nekotoba

最近的生活很奇怪，时间不知不觉就从身边溜走了，想做的事情什么都没做到，更不要提报名、找房子和其它……然后昨天又被母亲下哀的美敦书，说15日内在上海见不到我的人就要举家飞到渥太华来了。不过这两天自我感觉还不错，也许目标可以达成？

前两天才发现日本放送会社的日语教程部分三个月前改版了。难看的网页和三百页丰富资料的免费配套书籍已成过去，现在的版本“实用日语100句”可以下载所有的录音 (以前只有前两个星期的录音)。考虑到NHK在北美并没有中文甚至是日文广播……短波收音机白买了。-w-

收到了SkyRain的赠图。把卡库尔画得很帅呢，呵呵。不过还需要再设定，现在的形象不像某空，不适于推倒，强行尝试的话可能会被逆推(?)。

对于浏览页面不回应过多会封锁的建议卡库尔不是很舒服，不过最后逐点指出了这个提议的缺陷。但不开心的事还是就忘掉算了……

聊天统计页面也换成新的样子了，不错！

Recently life has been a bit strange, time always slips past me without noticing. Nothing wanted to do is done, not to mention registration, housing and others… got an ultimatum from mom yesterday, saying if I’m not seen in Shanghai in 15 days she’ll fly the whole family to Ottawa. I’m feeling pretty well in the last two days though, so maybe it’s something that can be done?

Was only till a day or two ago did I discover Japan Broadcasting Company(NHK)’s Japanese lessons section has been revamped. Gone are the ugly web and 300-paged, tidbit enriched book for gratis, the current version “100 useful Japanese phrases” lets you download all the recordings (it used to be only for the last two weeks). Considering NHK doesn’t have any Chinese or even Japanese broadcasting in North America… Guess it was a waste to buy that short wave radio… -w-

Received a gift illust from SkyRain. Kakur was drawn pretty cool, heh. But my fursona needs further design. Unlike a certain Ark, my avatar is not suitable for toppling. Forced topple attempt may lead to counter-topple(?).

The chat statistics pages have gone under a face lift too. Not bad!

又又及: 结果完全忘记说我最近生活多囧了。大概和囧没法翻译有关 (类似于你不会去翻译 "lulz")。
PPS: Totally forgot to say how 囧 my life is recently. Maybe it has something to do with me unable to translate 囧 (like how you won’t translate "lulz").

一个月以来，卡库尔几乎没有做什么事。虽然羊毛被竟然送去干洗的时候，竟然被洗缩水了。只好买了新的被子和奇怪花纹的被套……但除此之外就是每天呆在房间里。

所以昨天只是彻底清扫一下房间，叠起洗好的衣服，就已经累到不行。当然，这也许和清扫的对象有关——现在住的房间里用的是地毯，而清扫工具只有扫帚。整个房间的手工一点点用力的把嵌在地毯里的杂物扫出来。

之后又决定离睡觉还早，打开狼之乐园看看。大错误。结果一看就看到凌晨两点……

无论怎么说，接下来还有许多事要做。又要忙起来了……

卡库尔在考虑，是不是要在租一个网页空间，然后把 Kir’s Corner 搬到 WordPress 日志软件上。这样同时还可以运行MediaWiki和PHPBB，以及在网上发布一些卡库尔制作的PHP的小玩意儿。没有独立 IP 就是难受啊。^_^

For a month Kakur hasn’t been doing much. Though the woollen quilt was shrunk when I sent it to be dry-cleaned. Aww. Had to buy new quilt and cover with strange patterns… and not much else is done but staying in my own room.

So even when I only completely cleaned the room and folded the clothes after laundry, those chores made me really tired. Though this could be related to the object being cleaned – the room is carpet floored, and my only tool is a broom. So had to manually sweep out every bit of random litter stuck in the carpet.

Then I decided it’s still some time from sleep, and should visit Wolves’ Paradise. Big Mistake. Turned out it took five hours, and it wasn’t till past midnight did I went to bed.

Whatever. There’s still a lot to be done, and it’s gonna get busy now…

Kakur’s thinking, should I get a web hosting and move Kir’s Corner to WordPress weblog software. And I could run MediaWiki and PHPBB too. And publish some PHP gadgets Kakur made on the web. Days without a unique IP is painful. ^_^ Where’s my IPv9?

P.S. Borrowed some books about typography from the library.

于是学年就这样结束了。成绩么，不重要（是你没考好吧！）。在学校里给自己找了一个临时的住处，不过，下学期开始的时候还要再次搬家。搬这一次就够累了，4 个包和 2 个纸箱子把卡库尔折腾得上气不接下气。并且，下学期住在哪里，还不清楚……至少这 4 个月不至于流落街头了吧。^_^

So the academic year hath ended like this. Performance is not important (you haven’t scored well in the test, have you). Found a temporary place to live in school, though I still need to move when the next term starts. Moving once is tiring enough — four bags and two cardboard boxed had Kakur running out of breath. And I have no idea where to live in the next term… at least I won’t be wondering around the streets for the next 4 months. ^_^

但是接下来，还有很多事情要做。除了住房，还有助学贷款和奖学金的申请（卡库尔发现按现在的情况，钱根本不够用！）、下学期课程的选择（应该不应该改读软件工程？选修视觉艺术怎么样？）、以及自己的私心时间（学习漫画/日语之类的）……再加上学校的餐厅暑假不营业，估计还会因此得到料理技能 F 级。即使不去外面找工作，也可以预见是很充实的一个假期啊。

But there’s still a lot of things to do next. In addition to housing, there’s still the application for loans and bursaries (Kakur just found out for current conditions I am already short on cash!), the course selection for next term (should I switch to Software Engineering? How’s Visual Arts for a minor?) and my own interests (manga / Japanese)… and the cafeteria does not run in the summer, thus I may also acquire Cooking skill Rank F. Even if I don’t try to find work outside, this is sure going to be a very interesting summer.

话说，考试结束无聊，竟然制作了一个自己的手写字体 Nekotoba (猫语叶)。虽然只是直接将我的手写制作成字体，竟然还用了两个晚上。现在全面涵盖 ASCII 所有的字符共 96 个，加上引号等标点共 105 个字符。下一个目标当然是 GB2312，但是汉字的数目是很大的。日本的“当用汉字”（在学校中教授的汉字）就有近 1900 个，而中国国家标准 GB2312 所包括的汉字，则有 6763 个（不知道日文假名和符号算不算在这 6763个字里）。6千字……要写死猫的（笑）。

By the way, I was kinda bored after the test, so I made a font called Nekotoba, based on my own handwriting. Even it’s only directly taking my handwriting and making it into a font, it took me two evenings. Now it has all 96 characters from ASCII, and punctuation like quotes for a total of 105 glyphs. The next target is, of course, ideographs from Chinese national standard GB2312, but the number of Han Characters is epic. The number of Kanji in use in Japan (in other words, the characters taught in school) is about 1900, and the glyphs defined in GB2312 is 6763 (don’t know whether Japanese Kana) and symbols count towards this 6763). Six thousand ideographs… that’s so gonna kill a cat.

网络插口修好了。能够自由连接，真的是很痛快，不过一天到晚在电脑前的话确实会误很多该做的事。

电子设计课期末考试结束了，成绩好的话是不正常的。卡库尔对硬件毫无兴趣……不过，接下来该做什么好呢？是开始Mabi试玩呢，还是复习微积分好呢？拿不定主意啊。

希望能尽快找到暑假落脚的地方吧。

Network jack has been fixed. It feels so wonderful to be able to connect freely, though sitting in front of the computer all day really would make one miss a lot of things that need to be done.

Just completed the final exam of Electrical Design (I) course, and if I get a good score in it, I’ll say that’s an abnormal status. Kakur has no interest in hardware anyway…

What to do next though? Start a Mabi trial, or review Calculus? Can’t decide…

Hope I’ll find a place to stay in the summer soon.

So yeah. The net jack in my room is misbehaving again. No network connectivity is not something Kakur am used to. Probably will give me more time to work on the assignments, though – might not be a bad thing?

寝室的网络插口又开始发毛病了。卡库尔不太习惯没有网络连接的日子。不过这样大概会给我更多时间来做作业吧，不一定是件坏事？
